We understand that many of you are fit and love to climb our big Scottish hills. However 6 full mountain days may not always allow you the time to savour the sights and sounds of our quieter glens and waterfalls. Based on this principle we have designed a holiday in the stunning Kintail area at Intermediate grade.
We aim to ascent some of the region’s finest summits such as A’ Glas Bheinn as well as sections of the Five Sisters and the South Glen Shiel Ridge. We will also walk to the Falls of Glomach and explore the remote glens north of Arnisdale passing the Iron Age Brochs Dun Telve and Dun Troddan. Finally we sail (weather permitting) to the remote Knoydart peninsula to climb one of the (lower) hills or walk along the rough & scenic coast.Accommodation During this week the group will stay at a comfortable, centrally located B&B accommodation in Glenelg, where you can be sure of Highland hospitality and a friendly welcome. Depending on how bookings are coming in we might have to split the group over two or more accommodations.
Hotel accommodation is also available. Please contact us for a quote. Walking Grade A mixture of mountain walks with 1500 to 3000 feet (450-900 m) of ascent and long low-level walks of up to 15 miles (24 km). We will walk for 6 to 7 hours a day at a steady pace but with plenty of view stops. There are few paths and the way is often over rough ground. Requires good fitness, previous hill walking experience is an advantage. |
